Garden city of India’, ‘Silicon Valley of India’, or ‘City with the best nightlife’, you name it and Bangalore, the capital city of Karnataka, will pop up.
Bangalore is one of the busiest and fast-growing IT city in India. It completes the outlook of a city with a modern lifestyle, the best education, abundant career opportunities, and great comfort of living in the Southern part of India. But it has a lot more to offer to the people who find a home and life within its space.
The city, which was initially perceived as a vacation destination, has slowly evolved as the IT capital of the country. It makes me utmost happy to say that it’s been closer to 8 years that I’m a part of this wonderful city and I still enjoy living in this place.
This blog post talks about the ‘12 amazing things you will love about living in Bangalore’. It will explain the goodness of the city and also gives some suggestions for finding the best options when you pay a visit to the garden city of India.

1. Heart-warming welcome
Have you ever been to a new place and felt like an alien there? You will never feel that in Bangalore.
It is a city that has a high migration rate and it witnesses a humongous movement of migrants from different parts of India as well as other nations every year.
Depending on your lifestyle, budget levels, and requirements, you can effortlessly choose a residential space in Bangalore. Also regardless of not knowing the state’s local language (Kannada), you can live in the city without facing any trouble.

Suggestion: If you can speak either Hindi or English, then you are all good to live in or visit Bangalore. My personal guarantee on that.
2. Mesmerizing weather

It’s pleasant and sunny in the morning, becomes cool at night, and gives frequent drizzles. Can you believe that it’s for almost all the seasons? People who come to Bangalore are quite attracted to its weather.
Having said that, the city definitely has summer days. But it is never scorching heat or unbearable like its neighbouring states. And the best part is that it rains beautifully during summer.

Suggestion: Bangalore weather has a funny nature. It can be bright and sunny, but within a span of less than 1 hour, it can convert to a rainy day and vice versa. Don't believe me? Check with any Bangalorean.
3. Non- judgemental people
Bangalore people are broad-minded, genuinely helpful and social. Whatever language you speak, wherever you are from, there is certainly a place for you in Bangalore and the Bangalore people makes you feel one among them in no time.

The city holds a mixture of cultures, beliefs, and different generations of people and it embraces it all. People are more practised to not to poke into others’ lives, but live their comfortable lives in their own terms. Isn’t that truly diversification?
Suggestion: You can focus just on yourself and be carefree when you are in Bangalore. People are quite busy here to judge you.
4. Foodie paradise
If you are a foodie or you admire the authenticity of food, then Bangalore is a little paradise for you. From South Indian delicacies to Mughal biriyanis to Delhi parathas to Italian pizza's, Bangalore has it all authentic to make your tummy smile.

Also, there will be a dessert kiosk at every corner when you walk down the streets. You can easily find a food joint that is quite economical here.

Suggestion: MTR’s dosa; Brahmin’s café’s Bisi Bele Bath and Kesari bath; Megna’s biriyani; Nagarjuna’s Andhra meal; Purani Dilli’s paratha; Truffle’s burger; Corner house ice-cream; MOD's doughnuts and any street momos are a must-try if you want to get a glimpse of Bangalore food.
5. Cafe culture
Imagine having a cup of hot coffee, sitting in a rooftop café when it’s drizzling? Well, you can make it real every now and then in Bangalore.

The city follows a strong café culture and it believes that anything can happen over a coffee (just like the Café Coffee Day (CCD) says). Be it a date or catching up with friends, people can make the best out by chilling at a cosy café in Bangalore.

Suggestion: Truffles; DYU Art café; The Hole in the Wall Café; Om Made Café; The White Room and Rasta Café are my personal favourites and you won’t regret visiting it.
6. Beautiful lakes and gardens
As the name ‘Garden City’ suggests, the city is filled with a lot of greenery. Although it is facing issues due to pollution, it still has plenty of beautiful gardens and several lakes around. Isn’t that an eye calming view inside a cityscape?

Lalbagh Botanical Garden, which is the most popular garden in Bangalore has over 1000 varieties of flowers. Attending a flower show there is mesmerizing indeed. Whereas, Cubbon Park, situated at the heart of the city, is a perfectly created place for nature lovers and for walkers.

Visiting these places for activities such as walking, jogging, bird watching, boating, etc. can be a refreshment for your senses and brings you joy.

Suggestion: Do not leave Bangalore without visiting Lalbagh and Cubbon Park. These places are like crowns to the Garden city.
7. A pool of career opportunities
A large number of people move to Bangalore either for higher education or for job opportunities.
The city has the presence of most of the highly reputed universities in India and a lot of prestigious colleges that offers nothing less than the best education.
At the same time, the city is the hub of start-ups and IT MNC’s in the country. Perfectly carved tech parks with hundreds of companies are taking the major part of Bangalore and the opportunities it provides are huge. It’s a perfect place to kick-start your career.

Suggestion: I have moved to Bangalore for my higher education and I can say that it was one of my best decision taken. Being the city with more than 67000 IT companies, finding a job doesn’t take ages.
8. Work-life balance
Bangalore people’s mantra is to work hard and party harder. Weekends are meant to explore new places, restaurants, party spots and destress yourself completely.
The vibe you get during a weekend in Bangalore is young, lively and amazing.

Suggestion: Walking through the streets of Koramangala, Church Street, or Indiranagar can meet your weekend agenda.
9. Boundless fun
When it comes to fun options in Bangalore, people have many to choose from. Bannerghatta National Park in the city comes with a zoo and butterfly park that kids would love to explore. People can also go on a safari ride there to witness wildlife.

The city has some well-known amusement parks as well such as Wonderla; Snow city; Fun world; Innovative Film City; Play arena; etc. that can be the ideal weekend plans with your family and friends.

The city also holds many art galleries that speaks; and theatrical performances, stand-up comedy, or concerts that keep you connected to art.
Bangalore is certainly a place that preserves historical monuments and ancient cultures well. There are a host of religious sites; Palaces; Museums; etc. to explore for the architecture lovers.
Suggestion: Do not miss visiting Bannerghatta National Park; Wonderla; Bangalore palace; and HAL Aerospace Museum, which is worth your time to spend.
10. Perfect place for shopping
Bangalore has the best options for you, whether you love shopping at malls or you enjoy street shopping.
There are malls such as Phoenix Marketcity; VR Mall; Orion Mall, etc. with all the domestic and international leading brands. You can find a mall in almost all the key areas of the city. Whereas the city also has popular street shopping areas, such as Commercial Street; Brigade Road; Jayanagar; Chickpet market; etc. which can amaze you with the things and that doesn’t go heavy on your pockets.

11. Safety at its best
Bangalore is one of the safest cities for women to live in India. From my experience of living in Bangalore for almost 8 years, I can agree to it without having second thoughts.
Definitely, there were some uncertain incidents happened in Bangalore in the past, but this place is way safer than many other cities in India. That constant unconscious fear of something might go wrong when you step out alone, is less experienced in Bangalore.

Suggestion: Your parents can stay calm if you get stuck anywhere alone after 7pm in Bangalore. You will find hundreds of girls getting back home post 7pm fearlessly after work.
12. Hot weekend spots
If you want to be away from the city hassle; wants to go for a weekend gateway, wants to see the sunrise or sunset from a hilltop; Bangalore has some amazing options within 300 km of travel.

Nandi Hills (61 km), Hogenakal Waterfalls (127 km), Shivasamudram falls (133 km), Mysore (143 km), Sakleshpur (221 km), Chikmagalur (243), Ooty (265 km), and Coorg (268 km) are some of the best options to consider.

Suggestion: Visit Nandi Hills whenever you come to Bangalore. It’s just 1.5-hour drive away and it gives you a whole new experience of being in Bangalore.
Summary –
Like every other city, Bangalore also has its own concerns regarding bad traffic, increasing pollution, overpopulation, etc. which the authorities are trying their best to fix. But those concerns cannot take away the amazing life and experiences that the city is offering you.
People who found a home and life in Bangalore can agree that it is much more than the IT hub of India. Its impeccable weather, beautiful gardens, amazing people, diverse culture, delicious food, neverending fun, and the best safety cannot be compared by any other place. And undoubtedly it is one of the best city to visit for a break.
